The Lithuanian Diaspora Affairs Coordination Commission The Inter-Institutional Working Group for the Implementation of the Lithuanian Diaspora Policy

The Lithuanian Diaspora Affairs Coordination Commission (Commission) was established by the government of Lithuania on April 22, 2009, by Resolution No. 335 "On the Establishment of the Lithuanian Diaspora Affairs Coordination Commission"

The purpose of the Commission is to ensure the government's dialogue with Lithuanian diaspora organizations, to consider and submit proposals to the government regarding Lithuanian diaspora policies and to evaluate the action plan for the implementation of the Lithuanian diaspora policy strategy as well as its execution. The commission meets at least once a year at the national government’s offices in Lithuania. 

The Commission for the Coordination of Lithuanian Diaspora Affairs consists of the heads of ministries and institutions of the Republic of Lithuania, diaspora organizations and non-governmental organizations involved in the implementation of the diaspora policy. The personnel composition of the Lithuanian Diaspora Affairs Coordination Commission was approved on June 17, 2009 by the Prime Minister's Decree No. 234 "Re Approval of the Personnel Composition of the Lithuanian Diaspora Affairs Coordination Commission"

The Inter-Institutional Working Group for the Implementation of the Lithuanian Diaspora Policy was established by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania on October 1, 2021 by Decree No. V-425. 

The purpose of this group is to prepare and submit proposals to the Lithuanian Diaspora Affairs Coordination Commission on its activities and to carry out the tasks assigned to it by the Commission.
